Frequently Asked Questions

Multiply the original price by the discount percentage and divide by 100 to get the discount amount, then subtract from the original price. Example: 30% off $120 → discount = $36 → sale price = $84. Use the "% Off" tab above to do this instantly.

Divide the sale price by (1 minus the discount expressed as a decimal). Example: $84 after 30% off → original = $84 ÷ 0.70 = $120. Verify this with the "Find Discount %" tab.

Sale price = Original × (1 − discount% ÷ 100). Savings = Original × discount% ÷ 100. Example: 25% off $200 → sale price = $200 × 0.75 = $150, savings = $50.

Subtract the discount amount from the original price to get the sale price. To find the equivalent percentage off: (discount ÷ original) × 100. Example: $20 off $80 → sale price = $60, percentage off = 25%.

Savings = original price − sale price. Percentage off = (savings ÷ original) × 100. Example: $120 down to $84 → savings = $36 → 30% off. Use the "Find Discount %" tab above.
